I was riding my bike to a friends house up Jericho Turnpike, eastbound, around 4:00 p.m. In front of me was ever darkening clouds, but behind me was clear skies and sunshine. Then it started to rain and as soon as it did a rainbow arc formed. I heard the thunder, but I found myself mesmerized by the incomplete rainbow. A bolt of lightning shook me back to the reality that I needed to find shelter and fast. I found some and waited out the fast moving system and that took about 5 minutes. I continued on to my friends, but this image stayed with me from my late teens to this day.
